Nickalas Lampkin is the founder and owner of Xquisite Designs™. A graduating senior and Industrial Systems Engineering major at North Carolina A&T,“NCAT,” Nickalas is a member of the NCAT’s Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) as well as NSBE, i.e. the National Society of Black Engineers.

 

Growing up, Nickalas spent uncounted weekends and summers participating in engineering camps and male enrichment programs. For instance, Nickalas attended Southern Illinois University’s Edwardsville Youth Stem Camp where he was introduced to Project Management. Additionally, Nickalas also is an honored alumni of Project Still I Rise’s STEM Leadership Academy in Dallas, Texas.

 

While attending the Project Manhood Academy, Nickalas sharpened and developed a passion for engineering, entrepreneurship and peer leadership. In so doing, Nickalas embraced the lifestyle of an innovator, an out-of-the box thinker, and problem solver.

 

Building on his identity as an innovative, problem solver and STEM learner as an emerging engineering, Nickalas started Xquisite Designs™ during his freshman year at NCAT. Dissatisfied with the NCAT’s campus bookstore offerings, Nickalas began customizing apparel to create unique and affordable designs that only reflected his own unique “Aggie Pride,” but equally important a desire to offer college gear that reflected the significant impacts of the HBCU experience.
